.. what happend late summer 2006 ..

Some impressions of the HFM conferences on Highly Frustrated Magnetism, HFM-06, in Osaka.

Why did I study physics: meeting extraordinary people at special places!

Together with Prof. Yu. Ueda (ISSP Tokyo) in Kyoto during the Conference on Magnetism, ICM-06.

During the Conference on Condensed Matter - Theory and Application, CMPT-06 in Kharkiv.

Lenin in Kharkiv (including PL, but rather tiny in comparison)

A discussion meeting including Mr. Kurnosov, PL, Mr. Gnezdilov, and the session chair Prof. Yu Pashkevich (from left to right). The topic "Optimizing barbeque skewers to local temperature gradients" has been adressed in 5 min. short presentations

.. and finally the official conference photo:

.. with apologies to all members of the conference that had the bad luck standing behind me.

Going beyong limits, the Japanese-German Meeting "Collective Quantum Phenomena in Correlated Electron Systems, Heiji Mountain Hotel close to Kikone Castle, Kyoto, Japan, 26.-29.8.2006.

A little bit earlier highly motivated but still geometrically frustrated scientists met in Stockholm to exchange their cooking recipies.

Together with Dmitry Shulyatev and Vladimir Tsurkan in front of the Stockholm town hall and during the workshop. In this hall and a bit later in the year the Nobel prices are handed over.
